SPRING BREAK FUN

Coach Seirer and I are back from a wonderful relaxing time on our Spring Break Trip to Estes Park, Colorado! We enjoyed snowshoeing in the Rocky Mountain National Park. It was an awesome experience to walk across a frozen lake! We saw lots of wildlife. My favorite sighting was the Big Horned Sheep! I hope my little bees enjoyed their time off! Looking forward to seeing my students Monday morning!!

MR. STURGES - PRINCIPAL OF THE WEEK

READ YOUR HEART OUT

The First Graders read their hearts! So very proud of them! They read 257 books during the month of February! I hope the children will continue to help their minds to grow by reading a book every day! Parents, thank you for helping your child be "Hooked On Books". I am so thankful for the wonderful readers I teach! Clap, Clap, Hooray!

TECHNOLOGY TUESDAY

In celebration of "Read Across America" Technology Tuesday is dedicated to Dr. Seuss. Dr. Seuss' birthday is on March 2. Did you know that Dr. Seuss' real name is Theodor Seuss Geisel? His father ran a zoo in the early years and Theodor would hang out at the zoo. Many of his illustrations were inspired by his childhood memories. My favorite Dr. Seuss book was one that my mother gave me years ago. It is the last book that Dr. Seuss was writing before he passed away. It is titled, "Hooray for Diffendoofer Day!" This book has influenced my teaching styles and ways of thinking! Your child will enjoy exploring "Seussville". Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So... get on your way. (Dr. Seuss)
