On Wednesday, May 4 the first graders are going on a class trip to the Sunset Zoo in Manhattan. The zoo is amazing! I'm looking forward to spending the day viewing the animals. The children are enrolled in an Invest-I-Gators discovery class titled, " The Rearranged Zoo". With Sunset Zoo as the backdrop the children will have the unique opportunity to explore and reinforce animal classification. We will tour the zoo looking for similarities among animals and engage in a classification activity involving animal skulls. PTO is paying for the cost of the admission and program fees. THANK YOU PTO! The bus will leave at 8:45 a.m. and arrive back to school by 3:15 p.m. Parents are invited, but they will need to drive on their own and pay their own way into the zoo. Cost is $4.00. The children will have a picnic lunch at the zoo. They will need a lunch and drink. You can hear us sing, "We're going to the zoo, zoo, zoo! You can come too, too, too!"
