100 Day Celebration
We will celebrate the 100th day of school with the Clay Center First Graders in Clay Center on Tuesday, January 26th. We are trying something new this year. Our activities will take place at their new gym located between the Middle School and High School. The children will be placed into groups. Groups will rotate stations. We are in need of parent volunteers to help with the stations. If you could take some time off and would like to help, please contact me. Our bus leaves at 8:20. Activities begin at 9:00 a.m. with wrap up and closing at 1:00 p.m. We should be back to Wakefield by 1:30 p.m. We have been asked that each child bring a box of cereal for an activity. The cereal will need to be loop shaped like Cheerio's, Fruit Loop's, Apple Jacks. We will return unopened boxes of cereal. I'll send a reminder note with the children on Friday. When you are out shopping, please add this to your list! Our celebration will take place on Thursday, January 28. Notes were sent home on Wednesday. I hope the children are planning what they will bring for their 100 Collection. You are welcome to join us in the our classroom to view the collections from 12:15 - 1:30. Again, thanks for all you do to make this a special event for the children!

School has been canceled for Friday, January 8 due to the weather conditions. The children will have another day to snuggle up with a good book and practice their spelling words. The final test will be on Monday. I'll post a message as soon as I hear about WRA basketball scheduled to begin on Saturday. Stay inside where it is warm and be safe!

No School - Snow Day
BRRRR, it's cold out there! Hope the kids are all staying warm today. This would be a good time to snuggle up with a book and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate. Our reading goal this month is to read 20 books! The children received their reading log sheets Tuesday and should have it posted where they can keep track of their books. Those that meet this goal will receive an Eskimo Pie Ice Cream bar at the end of the month.
