SUNNY D LABELS

GREAT NEWS.....WE HAVE COLLECTED 20 LABELS! I am not sure if we have the correct labels but I went ahead and sent the order in. Guess we'll wait to find out. I heard it takes several months to receive our books. Mrs. Davis from Project Lead has participated in this Book event. She said the books she received were very good. Thank you to all who sent Sunny D labels in. I appreciate your support very much! Hope we don't have to wait very long to receive our books!

MOVING AHEAD...COMMON CORE STANDARDS

Our Math and Reading Standards are set by the Common Core Standards. If you're wondering just what are the Common Core Standards all about...take time to view this video. This year I'm serving on a committee which is looking at how our students are evaluated. We are moving towards a performance based grading system. Our students will be assessed according to their performance of the standards. The letter grading system would be replaced with performance levels. This will take time and requires research and development. At conference I will share more information on the Standards with you. Please take time to view this video before our Parent Teacher Conferences on November 6th & 7th.

AUTUMN BEAUTY

Autumn in the mountains is one of my favorite times of the year! I told the children that I saw Santa's reindeer. We spent 5 days in Estes Park for Elk Fest. If you've never heard an elk bugle it is the most amazing experience. The aspen trees were just beautiful. I brought home aspen leaves for the children. It's the peak time for Autumn in the Rocky Mountains! Click here to learn more about Elk Fest!
