SUMMER READING PROGRAM

This summer’s reading theme is “Dream Big – READ!”, and it was inspired by the concept of night and all that nighttime brings. Night is a time to dream, to wish on shooting stars, of bedtime stories, and things that explore the night – think bats, owls, and other nocturnal animals! Let’s explore and celebrate all things night related as we Dream Big and read together this summer!

Children learn best when their learning is not interrupted. And summer vacation is a long interruption. Without practice, children forget facts and important, "how to" skills. They fall behind because they don't practice this skills daily. Avoid the summer slide by taking your child to the library! It is proven that reading at least 8 books can create a bridge between June and August. Please take advantage of the opportunities at our public library! Sign up for the summer reading program and attend the storytimes. Plan to beat the "Summer Slide"!
