NEW SCHOOL SECURITY SYSTEM

Mr. Wagner visited the classrooms today and spoke about our new security system. You should have received a text or call about this during spring break. Effective today the school doors (front door and lunchroom door) will be open to enter the school from 7:45 am – 8:15 am. Please do not send your child to school earlier than 7:45 am or they will have to wait outside. No one will be allowed in the school before 7:45 am. If you need to enter the school, please use the front door and buzz in. After approval in the office then you will be allowed in. Report directly to the office to check in. If staying you will need to sign in and have a tag on to enter any classroom. Mr. Wagner stressed that you are aware that the doors will open at 7:45 am. This new policy is for our safety and we want to provide the best care we can for our students and staff.

SPRING BREAK FUN

SpRiNg Break is here! I'm so looking forward to a trip to the Ozark Mountains. Coach Seirer and I will be hiking and taking a segway tour in Dogwood Canyon. We'll experience the adventure of traveling through Dogwood Canyon's most breathtaking sites on this round trip tour to the Glory Hole, a magnificent blue-green pool where some of the largest trout reside. I've heard this Nature Park is very beautiful! We have reservations on the Branson Scenic Railway train ride excursion. This train ride takes passengers through tunnels, over trestles, and through the southwest Missouri or northwest Arkansas wilderness that is still home to much wildlife and to the ruins of long-ago communities now named only on railroad maps. I'm loooking forward to relaxing at the pool and hot tub at our resort. Wishing all my little bumbles a restful and fun week. My treat to you.....NO HOMEWORK!

TECHNOLOGY THURSDAY

In celebration of "Read Across America" we have enjoyed a variety of books and activities this week. Dr. Seuss' birthday is on March 2. Did you know that Dr. Seuss' real name is Theodor Seuss Geisel? His father ran a zoo in the early years and Theodor would hang out at the zoo. Many of his illustrations were inspired by his childhood memories. My favorite Dr. Seuss book was one that my mother gave me years ago. It is the last book that Dr. Seuss was writing before he passed away. It is titled, "Hooray for Diffendoofer Day!" This book has influenced my teaching styles and ways of thinking! Your child will enjoy exploring "Seussville" and listen to Dr. Seuss books read online at these websites:

By special request here is the recipe we used: 2 cups cornstarch, 1 cup water and drops of green food coloring. The formula is 2 to 1. (cornstarch to water) The mixture should be thick and sticky.
