SUMMER READING PROGRAM

Children learn best when their learning is not interrupted. And summer vacation is a long interruption. Without practice, children forget facts and important, "how to" skills. They fall behind because they don't practice this skills daily. Avoid the summer slide by taking your child to the library! It is proven that reading at least 8 books can create a bridge between June and August. Please take advantage of the opportunities at our public library! Sign up for the summer reading program and attend the storytimes. Plan to beat the "Summer Slide"!

This summer’s reading theme is “DIG INTO READING"! The first graders are going to love this! The children are visiting the Wakefield Public Library on Monday, May 20 to learn more about the summer reading program. It's all free and fun! Hope to see you at the library this summer!
