MAKING A HOMEMADE LAVA LAMP

The children were so excited about the homemade lava lamp we made in Science class today. Here is the link to make your own lava lamp at home. I bought all the supplies here in town at our Dollar General.

The Science Behind Oil and Water Don't Mix Experiment:
When two liquids like oil and water separate into layers, it's said the two liquids are immiscible.
This explains why pouring water onto a grease fire does not work and only spreads the fire. It also explains how animals living in the Artic can brave ice cold water without really getting too wet (their fur coats are very oily). Now get some friends and do the Oil and Water Don't Mix Experiment.
