It's Inauguration Day! A day in history I hope the children will remember. Today we talked about what makes this day so special. Please ask your child to tell you what they learned about our new president. If you have time turn on the news tonight and watch the highlights of this day.

We will not have a new list of spelling words this week. We are taking the Unit 3 Reading Skills test. This will take several days and I didn't want to plan to much for the children and stretch them thin. Remember to help them practice the vocabulary words for the word test. There are 30 words that will be tested.

In math today we are working on correcting telling time papers. The children need to remember to draw the hour hand correctly when the time is half past the hour. We will also review the months of the year. A tested skill is to be able to tell the months and what month comes next. We will take the telling time chapter test this week.

Look for more news on the 100 Day celebration. I will send a note home on Friday and post a message. We will celebrate on Tuesday, Jan. 27.
