1.22.09

Our First Graders have been involved with a counting project since the beginning of school. Each school day we add a number to our school day counting line. On the 100th day our class is having a “100 Day Celebration” to recognize that we have been in school for 100 days. On Tuesday, January 27, I would like each child to bring 100 things from home to display for the classes that will visit and our special visitors. For example, 100 pennies, M&M’s, paper clips, Fruit Loops, buttons, chocolate chips, old stamps, marshmallows, legos, bubble gum, sweet tarts, hair clips, baseball cards, puzzle pieces. Each child is expected to have something to share. All of our activities that day will be centered on the number 100. The children will be displaying their collections in the morning between 8:45 - 9:45. You are more than welcome to drop in and visit.

In the afternoon the First Graders will be taking a trip to Clay Center. We are meeting with all the First Graders in the district for some fun 100 day activities. We are leaving at 12:50 p.m. and will return before school is out. Please make sure your child dresses comfortable this day. If your child has a flyer school shirt they might want to wear it.

Thanks again for your support of 100 day. We are looking forward to a wonderful day!
